Air India Express, India’s first international budget carrier, has been named the ‘Iconic Brand of India – 2021’ by The Economic Times. The award is in recognition of its overall performance and efforts to ensure business continuity.
The ‘Iconic Brands of India’ award focuses on indigenous brands and businesses that have scripted successful ‘iconic’ stories and have set an example to the world.
The 4th Edition of The Economic Times Iconic Brands 2021 showcased success stories from homegrown brands which provide much needed inspiration for businesses to take their story forward and also live up to the legacy.
“It’s an honour to be selected by Economic Times as an iconic brand, especially at a time brands are struggling to stay relevant and keep connected with the customers. This award is a tribute to the people who stand behind the brand – our 1400 employees who have taken great personal risk to make sure our services keep going,” Mr. Aloke Singh, CEO, Air India Express, said.
Air India Express’ business model is people-centric. Being a point-to-point budget carrier, Air India Express has made flying possible for the common man since starting operations in 2005. This is exactly what makes the Airline a household name.
Today, Air India Express operates to 14 international destinations and 19 domestic destinations. With the health of the passengers and employees at the top of the list, the Airline has set out on a mass vaccination drive among all the staff. As a result, the Airline could successfully operate India’s first international flight fully-vaccinated crew on June 18, 2021 on the Delhi-Dubai sector.
