13 Years & Flying High

Air India Express is stepping into its 13th year of service by flying high in happy colours. Being a low-cost carrier is one of those reasons why we are still the favourite airline of fellow passengers. In the last two years, we have earned a net profit that has become a milestone in our history. Our mission has always been to provide convenient connectivity in the short-range routes at the most affordable prices to passengers, and that’s why we are the best in the airline industry when it comes to being a low-cost carrier. We hold a fleet size of 23 and provide point-point connectivity.

As per the accounts placed and approved by Airline’s Board of Directors (on 28th June 2017), the Airline has made a net profit of Rs.296.7 Cr. in FY 2016-17. The Airline has been registering operating profit for the last four years, and for the first time earned a net profit in 2015-16. Let’s take a look back to know how we started it all and how we successfully completed 13 years of service. Air India Express has started its operations on 29 April 2005 with three flights, taking off simultaneously from Thiruvanathapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode. We are the only Indian low-cost carrier, that offers complimentary food, tea/coffee to the passengers. The aircraft feature unique designs on either side of the tail that portray various facets of Indian culture, history and tradition. We have diversified wings that simply make us remain as a unified nation. Our 23 flights are designed with unique liveries with different themes, and which helps us to stand out in the airline industry. We provide international connectivity, mainly from Tier II cities in India, to Middle East and South East Asia.

We are greatly thankful to all our fellow passengers, the fraternity & kith and kin of Air India Express for being a part of us.
