Introducing A Brand New Destination!
Kozhikodans in Saudi Arabia have reason to rejoice – Air India Express is introducing direct flights to Riyadh from Karipur International Airport, starting 2nd December 2016. Flight IX 321 on the Kozhikode-Riyadh sector will depart Kozhikode at 9.15 am and arrive in Riyadh at 11.45 am (local time). In the return direction, flight IX 322 will depart Riyadh at 01.15 pm (local time) and arrive in Kozhikode at 8.45 pm. This service is available four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. This service when introduced would be the longest route in the airline’s network.
Effective 2nd December, Air India Express shall be operating 134 services per week between Kozhikode and the Middle East, making Kozhikode the single largest on-line destination for the Airline. The budget carrier operates around 500 flights per week, connecting 14 Indian cities to 13 destinations in the Middle East and South East Asia, with a fleet of 21 aircraft.
The Airline’s 22nd aircraft shall be inducted shortly and positioned in Chennai for launching non-stop flights between Chennai and Singapore. The 23rd aircraft which will join the Air India Express fleet by the end of November 2016 shall be deployed to operate the Kozhikode -Riyadh service. This new aircraft is equipped to carry more capacity, as it comes with lighter seats and higher performance capabilities.
Air India Express has for the first time since its inception registered net profit in the last financial year and the revenue is expected to grow by about 25% in the current financial year.
