Pack Your Bags, and Be Cool About It!

They say, pack your bags and not your worries. Because the flight is much more enjoyable when your bags are safe and tucked away cosily. As they are while you are with Air India Express.

To start with, the Air India Express offer every passenger, including infants, to carry free baggage depending on destination and fare of tickets purchased. For example, the volume of baggage allowed will vary from 20 kg to 30 kg to 40 kg while flying from the Gulf nations to India on the basis of the ticket fare, while the baggage is limited to 20 kg while flying out from India to any international destinations.

The passengers can carry baggage weighing either 20 kg or 30 kg, again depending on the ticket fare, while flying to India from Singapore. Air India Express allows 25 kgs to be carried in all domestic flights.

But most often, people need to carry more than the allowed free baggage limit. Air India Express understands this. For example, infants have the right to carry 10 kg of free baggage against their ticket, including hand baggage weighing 7 kg, if any.

As for the grownups, Air India Express has made provisions for them to purchase pre-booked excess baggage in two slabs – 5 kg and 10 kg. Please note that the price for this pre-booking will vary based on routes and seasonality. And the best part of it is that the excess baggage can be pre-booked much before you arrive at the airport. This can be done from our city offices or contact centre or travel agents. Or even better, you’re your own home through our website www.airindiaexpress.in. Just go and check it up under ‘Express Extras’.

Having said this, excess baggage can be allowed only depending on the space available on the aircraft. Payload constraints vary from flight to flight and so we are forced to make the sale of excess baggage online on the first-come-first-serve basis.

And yes, having space constraints also means that you will have to have an idea about the baggage size. Anything beyond 62 inches or 158 centimetres as the total of all three dimensions (length, breadth and height) might find it hard to be carried inside the flight. In other words, you need to be aware not just about the weight, but also the dimensions of your baggage for the ease of travel.

Once you got your baggage in, just rest assured. You are about to start one of the most comfortable experiences in your life. Because you are aboard Air India Express.
