Shimla Airport is located in Jabarhatti, 22 kilometres from Shimla. The airport was constructed by cutting down a mountaintop and levelling the area to form the single runway. The small apron has space for two small aircrafts to park simultaneously.

The airport is one of only three tabletop runways in the country, which was built on a hilly terrain and can be challenging to pilots.
Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair

A new terminal which is scheduled to be operational by 2018 is under construction currently. Initially the airports tricky location allowed flight operations only during the day, but the airport was recently upgraded with improved runway, lighting and navigation systems to allow commercial night flying.
