The inaugural flight from Kannur International Airport (KIAL) in northern Kerala will take off for Abu Dhabi on December 9th, after the airport’s inauguration by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The maiden flight will be operated by the international low-cost airline, Air India Express, the only airline to have released a schedule of commercial operations from the airport till now.
The CEO of Air India Express, Mr. K. Shyam Sundar announced the Kannur operations on November 13th.
“We will be the first carrier to operate the inaugural international flight from Kannur to Abu Dhabi. I am sure that this will be a great news for the customers from Kannur. It is a pleasure for Air India Express to add Kannur to its network, because this Airline started its operations from three other airports in Kerala namely Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode, and I’m sure that this service will be popular and will lead to prosperity in Air India Express which has been turning in profits for the past three years. I wish them all the very best and assure the people of Kannur that Air India Express will grow stronger and stronger from its operations from Kannur”. CEO, Mr. K Shyam Sundar said while announcing the Kannur operations of Air India Express.
