Actions Speak Louder than Words
The state commemorated palliative care day, Air India Express decided to use the opportunity to highlight and appreciate the dedicated efforts of palliative care workers and volunteers particularly those working in the rural areas of Kochi, the city of our headquarters. Joining hands with the palliative care initiatives of the Nedumbassery Panchayat which is within the area of the Cochin International Airport, Air India Express decided to sponsor a mobile palliative care unit, which is equipped with wheelchairs, walkers, stretchers and all necessary implements for tending to the sick and the elderly. AIE contributed fabric and materials necessary for the team as well as uniforms to all the palliative care workers and volunteers of the panchayat in a brief function inaugurated by Mr. Sreejesh P R, captain of Indian hockey team along with Panchayath president Mini Eldho.
“Being a part of this noble act gives me a great deal of happiness, particularly when a company like Air India Express, gravitates towards charity rather than publicity and extends their support to the Nedumbassery Grama Panchayath. We need to support and serve the poor and less fortunate families, which is the aim of such an initiative, and I am very proud to be a part of it.” said Sreejesh P R.
Following the official function, CEO of Air India Express handed over the keys to the palliative care vehicle to the panchayat president.
