Doing Our Bit With The God’s Own Country To Overcome The Catastrophic Flood

Now that the tragic flood in Kerala is over, Air India Express would like to take this opportunity to salute the valiant efforts of the rescue and relief personnel in mitigating the effects of this truly catastrophic natural disaster. As it had happened, following the closure of Cochin International Airport during the flooding, we had to deal with a host of issues relating to our flights including rerouting, cancellation and refunds. Our customer care wing was working around the clock to provide information and tend to the need of thousands of fliers, particularly from the Middle East, who had the misfortune to have their journeys scheduled during the emergency.
To this effect, we enabled passengers from Kochi outbound to the Middle East to fly from Thiruvananthapuram or Kozhikode airports based on their choice with ZERO extra charges.

Passengers who had their scheduled departures from Kochi airport were given the option to go to either Thiruvananthapuram or Kozhikode and these airports accepted passengers who had their Kochi tickets. We believe this enabled our passengers to make it to their destinations on time with minimal losses and not a single flight was cancelled through the adoption of this strategy.
Moreover, any passengers who requested cancellations were offered full refunds or a free rescheduling. Through a 24/7 monitoring of our FaceBook account, we got in touch with passengers who left their contact information and settled their grievances as well.

Donations

In association with a Kerala-based media house, we were the first to transport 300 life jackets and searchlights from Dubai, which was used in rescue operations in flood-affected regions.
Our gratitude goes out to our loyal customers who stood by us in this testing time and helped us with prompt responses. Congratulations Kerala, in overcoming this tragedy successfully, let us take to the skies once again! Visit airindiaexpress.in to book your tickets and discover destinations.
