The low-cost international carrier Air India Express launched its inaugural flight from India’s newest airport Kannur International to Abu Dhabi International Airport. The first flight was flagged off at 10 am with much fanfare and celebration including an elaborate cultural programme. Ministers, senior politicians and hundreds of people had gathered at the airport to witness the formal inauguration by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Kannur is the fourth international airport in Kerala after Thiruvanathapuram, Kozhikode and Kochi. KIAL is slated to serve more than 1.5 million international passengers annually.
Air India Express, the international budget airline is famous for its short to medium haul international routes in the Gulf and South East Asia. And now, we’re flying high in happy colours by being the the maiden flight from Kannur to Abu Dhabi. The passengers of maiden flight of Air India Express was also the first passenger flight that took off after the inauguration of Kannur International airport. The overjoyed passengers of the maiden flight from Kannur to Abu Dhabi share their double excitement as they became the part of history on December 9, 2018.
