World Malayalee Council’s Environmental protection award for “Ente Edakkad” Project of Air India Express. It is an end-to-end waste management project, being implemented in association with Mathrubhumi at Edakkad grama panchayat in Kozhikode district of Kerala. Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan presented the award in a function held at Kochi.
Ente Edakkad is an initiative by Air India Express along with the support of Mathrubhumi. It is a waste management project to save Kozhikode, especially the village ‘Edakkad’ from the hazards of waste. The project aims to invent demonstrable waste management solutions for the State of Kerala and Edakkad is all set to host the pilot project. In order to make the city of Kozhikode a beautiful place to aside, the people have also shown great support to be a part of the initiative.
The people of Edakkad has joined together with the help of Mathrubhumi and Air India Express to start a new project, which is to make Edakkad a waste-free ward. An intense effort to save this place from wastage. If the dream “Ente Edakkad” becomes a success, there is no doubt that we can definitely change and clean each and every ward with this movement.
